naked oklahoma

I've lived in Oklahoma all my life. Even so, there are a lot of places I haven't been or sites I've never seen in the state. I've never been to the Tall Grass Prairie Reserve where the buffalo roam or the Little Sahara . But, apparently, there are some places in Oklahoma I've never even heard of.

Flipping through the March 2008 issue of Runner's World, I came across an article about a race in Oklahoma. Interesting. But even more interesting is that for the race clothing is optional. Say what? That's right, the Trail of Tears 5-K at the Oaklake Trails Naturalist Resort you can run sans running shorts (or anything else for that matter). They don't even wear a race number.

Now, I'm sure for some (say small children) running around naked could be fun. But, I'm sorry, I just could not bring myself to participate in running naked, let alone in a race. Dang, I wouldn't even run naked on my treadmill. I could put my eye out!

Not having been able to run since I blew the knee apart at 14, I'm not to interested in the running part. The naked part? Hmmm, that sounds much more fun, as long as your eyes don't get poked out.

Seriously, though, I wonder how many participate in this, and doesn't the bouncing and jouncing (for either sex) make it rather painful, after a while? Say, .10 mile?

You know, I'm w/ Sailor. . . Naked? Sounds fun. Naked 5K? More like painful. . .

Yeah, if I did that, I could probably put my eye out too.

You and my wife have a couple things in common. She also hasn't visited everywhere in Oklahoma.

Oh, sometimes just walking down the stairs of my house is a potentially painful experience. No way I would think running naked would be a good thing for me!

I never heard of that...I missed out! You read runners world? So do we! Do you run? We do...well... I used to but my right knee has been a pain in the ol' sea captain so it has slowed me down a little. I think we have a lot in common.

Sailor - I don't know about whether or not it'd be painful, I can only imagine. The article didn't mention anything about it. Though it did say one guy wore a jock strap.

Desmond - Yeah, I think after a minute or so the girls would be protesting quite a bit.

FTN - I'm guessing the whole myth about really tall guys and big hands/feet is true then, huh?

SM - So, is your wife from OK? I bet she and I would find a lot of things to talk about.

Girl - Hey, going up and down the stairs is enough of a workout!

Scarlett - I've been running for a few years, though I haven't in the past few months. Now I'm having to start completely over in my training so I can even run a mile.

I imagine it's a great spectator sport but participation? Not so much.
