1, 2, 3 . . .

While I work on a more meaningful post, here is something to think about:

It would take 32,000 years to count to one trillion.

I didn't believe it when I heard it, but, using simple math, it actually works out.

Edit: I can't believe I didn't mention, in this completely random post, that this week I am blogging from the RealBlogger House (second year in a row, thank you very much). Tune in for this season's exciting adventure in a tropical paradise.

That's why you're the engineering major!

Well, that's if you're only counting at the rate of one number per second. If you can count TWO numbers per second, you can cut it all the way down to 16,000 years. . .

Of course, it could get a little challenging by the time you get to something like three hundred twenty-nine billion, four hundred seventy-six million, eight hundred ninety-two thousand, five hundred eighty-seven, to get two of those in every second. . .

Interesting statistic.

I am facinated with your blog template.
Every couple of days, I make an effort to visit bloggers I find in the profiles under similar interests as mine. I believe I found your blog under "Bible Study".
Anyway, I saw that you may fit nicely into the network of people I blog with, whom are all Christians. One of the people I feel you will enjoy blogging with is Christian Novelist, Patricia Hickman. I also have a friend who has a Master in Theology and a Phd under review in Philosophy.
My main blog features a music player that plays Contemporary Christian music. My blog post are usually exegetical in nature. My wife usually writes pretty well thought out theological post. You'll find her link at the bottom of my blog role, because, she usually only puts up a blog once every two weeks.
If you would like to receive visits from people in my blog network, let me know and I'll send out the word. Also, visit either my main blog, Journaling for Growth or Love One Another to get an idea of whether you may want me to host a link to your blog on them. And, then I'll ask you to return the favor.
Thanks,
Jim

I think I'll pass on that count, I don't have enough toes.

You lost me at 'simple math'

:)

Cocotte, I'm not majoring in Engineering, but I'll take that as a compliment. I'm not really *that* smart.

Desmond, I based my figures on counting four numbers in one second. Of course, that comes out to about d trillion in 32,000 years, but like you said, once you get to those really long numbers it's going to take longer for each count.

jeleasure, thanks for stopping by.

Sailor, lord, I hope not! You'd look like some kind a freak with a trillion toes all over you.

FadKog, that is so funny, because as soon as I typed 'simple math' I thought of you.

I'm such a dork. Desmond, that should say 4 trillion, not d trillion. I can count and do simple math. I just can't type :o)

Don't tell my kids this. They often count to 100, outloud, in the backseat on car trips. For no reason whatsoever but to show me that they can.

The next 6-hour drive we have to my parent's house, they might try out your theory.

Happy to see you in the RealBlogger house again! How'd you get so popular to get in two years in a row?
