kiss me, i'm german

Even though I missed out on the Great Midwest Blogger Gathering of 2008 at an Irish pub and Guitar Hero playoff (which I wouldn't have been any good at anyway), I did have a great time with RL at the 30th Annual Oktoberfest.

It was actually one of the best times we've had there and not because of the beer. Because, though I'm German, I can't stand beer. That's ok, though, because I was the designated driver and got free Pepsi.

Anyway, we ventured into one tent that wasn't playing German music. (Yeah, I know, no beer and no German music. What kind of German am I?? We did get to do the chicken dance a few times -- ok, I did. RL isn't much into chicken dancing). There was a jazz band playing and then later Brandon Giles and the Tricky Two (think Jerry Lee Lewis). This Brandon guy was crazy! And, oh man, could he play the piano!!

So, even though the blogger world missed out on my karaoke performance (count yourself lucky) it was a great weekend of music and dancing!

You don't like beer?

Then, let FTN talk you into a Snakebite. Molly did, and she really liked it. . .

And geez, we didn't do any chicken dancing. Guess we didn't have enough beer. . .

Two of my kids are taking German 1 this year. The language is crazy hilarious!

And I'm German, but I don't like the dark beers, the weinerschnitzels or any of that sausage-type food. But did you get any good pastries, PR?

I'm sad we didn't get to hear your karaoke. Or get to see you do the chicken dance, for that matter.

I would have needed a lot of beer to do the Chicken Dance in that group!

Desmond - Nope, never have liked beer. I'm the who likes to cover up the taste of alcohol. Now, the Snakebite sounds interesting. And with the right people and the right music, you don't need a lot of beer to do the chicken dance. FTN should've brought his accordian.

Cocotte - We always have to have the bratwurst & saurkraut when we go. This year I had some Itallian Cream Cake Truffles. They were awesome.

FTN - I would much rather do the chicken dance than karaoke!!

Girl - Oh, c'mon, after all you've shared with us and your love for animals (especially dolphins), you wouldn't do the chicken dance?

I've always want to go to an Octoberfest. That's one more thing I need to add to my list. Sounds like a lot of fun.
