3-day weekend

We've been busy around the house, this wonderful 3-day weekend, working on projects. Projects that could have possibly taken a couple of hours, but ended up taking a couple of days. Projects that need to be done first in order to start other projects that will, eventually, lead to getting this house sold so we can buy another one. We've really just started and, already, I'm sick of projects.

But the good thing is RL has been home and we've (sort of) been together. I mean, he's done almost all the work, because, let's face it, I don't know too much about plumbing. But I've been there to help when needed and I guess that's what counts. And who knew just making a trip to the home improvement warehouses with him would make him nearly giddy? It's one of those things that brings us together, working as a team, and I think that makes us both feel more connected.

Anyway, that's what's been going on around my house and why I haven't had time to write.

Happy Easter!

The first thought that crossed my mind about the shopping together at the hardware store - That's kind of romantic.

The second thought - Oh man, I am such a guy to think of couple shopping at the hardware store as romantic.

Selling a house? Buying another? That'll do wonders for you I'm sure!

And yeah I relate, Queenie gives similar 'help' when I go to do projects .... ennyho, I best stop before I git meself in trubble ...

Oh, we have so many projects to do at our house, and they, too, will lead to other projects. It's a never ending cycle that, I fear, is what keeps us from actually starting anything! That or my solution to the garage mess fiasco is to light a match and my husband doesn't seem to think that would work!

Smiley - Thanks, hope you had a blessed Easter also. Some of the work I just let him do himself cause sometimes it's better to just stay out of his way :o)

SM - Yeah, you know us, sooo romantic. And besides, you are a "manly man."

XI - Well, most of my help comes in when he needs me to hold something, hand him something or pick out something. Oh and it is my personal responsibility to oo and ah over evrything he does.

Girl - We've been talking about these projects for a few years now. The fact that we are considering moving is what finally got us motivated. Well, that and saving the money.

I've given up on the garage. That is his domain and I don't even worry about it.

My husband and I are contemplating a few projects around the house, and I've noticed that one project seems to spawn another. Case in point: we'd like to paint the kitchen. Sounds easy enough, but we'd like to paint the adjoining space the same color, and that will require removing the doors from the fridge (our refrigerator is in another space) to move it to the kitchen to give us room to paint, and as long as the fridge is moved, we may as well extend the kitchen flooring into the other space ...

Even knowing all that, we are chomping at the bit to get started. It's a pain in the neck, but very gratifying to do it, isn't it? I hope your projects are going well!
