work

I love my job; I love everything about it! And it's funny, because it was such a fluke how I got into surveying. I mean, I spent almost 20 years in the office, answering phones, filing, making copies, etc. and then I was moved to Surveying. To be honest, it was probably really meant as a disciplinary action, but it was the greatest thing that could've happened in my life at that time.

So now I've been working on getting a degree and maybe someday I'll get my license. This semester I'm taking college algebra. Yeah, just one class a semester. I know it's going to take me forever, but it sure makes it easy to keep a 4.0 GPA. Maybe I'll graduate the same year I retire, but that's ok.

This week we have a job at the lake. I love working out of town, hiking through the woods, the scenery. It's freezing cold up there, but it's still beautiful. I've wanted to take my camera, but I don't have a case for it yet. (There's just really no place safe to keep it in the truck.) Anyway, it's nice getting out of town, even if it is for work. I work on a great crew and we have so much fun it doesn't seem like work.
