just when you thought it was safe . . .

Today started out great. (That should have been my first clue.) I got up early and, true to my New Year's resolutions, actually took Shasta out for a mile walk. Hey, the email could wait, so I figured why not.

The only problem with exercising in the morning is you better have a good plan for the rest of the day. I didn't. By the time I got back home, made coffee, read my email and surfed a little I was ready to go back to bed. There wasn't anything I just had to do, so I thought, again, why not. Big mistake.

I didn't really go back to bed, though, I just sat on the couch and watched about 2 1/2 movies. That is not me. I am not a couch potato. Maybe an internet junkie, but not a couch potato. I was so depressed from all the time I wasted I went back to bed, slept 2 hours, and then made myself get up. By then the day was practically over.

You'd think after all the rest I had I'd be ready for the drama that was to come. But, no, it was like a bolt of lightning striking the middle of my living room from out of blue sky -- no warning. Just . . . BAM! . . . and I was dazed and confused. Let's just say that when there is a teenager living in your house there is always drama. When there is a teenage girl living in your house there is ten times the drama. When there is a teenage girl living in your house who just got back together with her boyfriend (of 2 years) there is drama you can't even begin to imagine!

What is the lesson in all of this? Don't exercise in the morning . . . it will ruin your day!
